> once you pop you can't stop.

I love Pringle of Scotland so much.
Look at the gorgeous ensembles and pieces from Pringle 1815.
How cute is that beige skirt? and that black babydoll top?

Even the pieces of the fellas are nice.

> when good fashion happens to bad people.

People never like the antagonist. I always do, but perhaps that the therapist in me. I imagine the tormented life that, I hypothesize, they must have had. I imagine their motives that no one understands that seems so just in their own mind. I imagine the motivation and immense dedication it takes.
Don't get me wrong, I don't commend evil acts of violence against another; but I do like the 'bad guy'. Perhaps I'm really just superficial and what I like about the evil-doer is their style. It is so carefully planned out. I do believe that the antagonist is the most fashion conscious.

Exhibit A: Paul & Peter (Funny Games, 1997)

Sadly these were the best images of Funny Games (1997 Austrian Version) that I could find. It was important to have the original version over the U.S version. Paul's outfit is much better in this version. He wears the shorter shorts and long sleeve polo. Both evil-boy-o's decked out in all white tops, gloves, and shoes (converse low-tops) they look just grand. Such professionalism but still looking cool.

Exhibit B: The Joker

Very Etro, no? Very Grunge. Very--- amazing. I had a hard time deciding which Joker I liked better because I really do like the plaid pants on Jack Nicholson as the Joker. However, I opted for the updated joker because it's a little more wearable. I love the vest being army green.
No kidding around about his fashion here (lame, I know).

Exhibit C: Cruella De Vil

I don't condone the wearing of fur, but damn. Cruella was ahead of her time. French chic, black cat suit with a plunging neckline, the red gloves (probably leather), and always in heels. You got to give the woman credit: she looked good while being so evil.

Exhibit D: Jack Torrence

The whole wardrobe of this film is brilliant, but Jack really captures my style. Flannel, jeans, and a bomber. So simple, yet so cool. Could you imagine this on someone 20 years (compared to the photo age) younger? Stylin'.

Exhibit E: The Heathers

I don't think there's any explanation needed here. Just look at them!

I'm sure there are many others that are stylin' while going on with their bad self.
Please leave a comment about it!

> with in the band.

A wonderful weekend.
I have this group of close friends. We call our selves SLANG (long story).
One had been living away in Scotland for a year, the other just came back from South Africa saving the elephants, another is at med school so we rarely see her, and the last friend lives in Michigan and came up for the weekend. Needless to say, it's rare when all of Slang is together.
We had a wonderful time playing rock band (how fun is that!?) and drinking... then eventually turning rock band into a drinking game.
When it came my turn to sing, the song was Weezer - Say it Ain't So. Remember that song? So nostalgic.

Okay, all that aside. Have people been watching the "stars" at the TIFF. Keira Knightley looked absolutely darling at the conference for The Dutchess.

What a cute skirt, right?
Also, check out SessĂșn's fall line. Too cute for words. I have my eye on the grey belle skirt.
Here are some of my favourite looks from this collection:

Oh Joy! I'm so excited for fall!

> shit you need to buy.

I've been buying many things: a oatmeal coloured knit cardigan, two navy cardigans, one beige cardigan, two pairs of london sole flats, a pair of cute booties, work pants (groan), and tops.
I must tell you about a certain shirt that is very much underestimated.

Behold, the American Apparel unisex oxford button up (or down).

Now, I bought this in an XS so it would fit looser (it's unisex), and it fits perfectly! The material is great and it's versatile. It was a happy purchase.

Now, the gap cardigan....

Oh-so-soft and loving the cargo pockets on this little cardigan. Perfect length too. I purchased it in navy and may have to buy the other colours-- you can never have too many cardigans in my opinion.

I have a wish list too. Have you seen the Steven Alan collection? I've been oogling this site for the past 4 weeks. I would love to (read: I need to) have this top in my life.

As you can tell, I'm in full fall mode, despite the weather being ungodly nice.

This entry is really incoherent and choppy.

Now, at the moment I'm kind of strapped for time, but I'm attempting to keep this blog going.
I also want to see this film.

> oh, the humanity.

Okay, I'm back, again, from the cottage.
Yesterday night we had a bit of a storm. The power went out for about an hour and a half and when the lights came back on, it was an utterly dark moment. I look to my closet and water. Inches of dirty water creeping from under my closet and seeping into the carpet. A familiar smell of urine.
So, I have been advised to throw out the majority of my shoe collection (see above) as they've had an unhealthy bath in... sewage water.
I've spent my day taking pictures of/mourning all my shoes, soaked in a good vile of nasty.
I guess this means shoe shopping.

Speaking of shopping, that's what I did yesterday. I went to Vaughan Mall and hit up BCBG, Aritzia, and (my favourite) Holt Renfrew: Last Call. All on sale.
Here are my purchases:
Photobucket
A cute dress from BCBG. It's oh-so soft and comfy to just toss on.

Photobucket
A top, a little sheer, from Aritzia.

And the two items from Holts:
Photobucket
MaxMara Weekend vest, which doesn't look like anything amazing, but it feels great and looks killer over a white tee and dark jeans. It's a perfect length too, for my body.

Photobucket
Lastly, Marc Jacobs rubber flats. They were 20 dollars so I Couldn't pass them up. Perfect to wear when it's rainy-- of if there are puddles in your room.

I tried many things on at Holts: a Theory blouse, a Marni Skirt, an APC button down. I cried when none fit me... too big or odd fitting. The catch and release (not the hunt and kill) is the hardest part about shopping, especially when it's a 300 dollar blouse, or a 500 dollar skirt, or a 180 dollar shirt all of which are insanely marked down, all of which do not fit.
Dispite this, I do believe in shopping karma.

> spell for a weak heart

Found! My old McDonalds Toys!

Ahoy!
I almost didn't get dressed today. Almost. But I did (see photos).
It's been a busy time. I've been working on research all day since I'm behind in hours. Focusing is hard when there's nothing to do. You know when you have so much to do that you want to get something done? Well, I don't really have anything to do. The research is all I have, and if the research is done... then what? I'm procrastinating for the purpose of sanity.

Onto clothing. You'll notice I like jeans and looking non-fussy. This proves to be difficult come the adult world. Actually, that's perhaps the reason why I've postponed adulthood and decided to do more school. Sadly, my masters will be done this time next year, which means I need to start integrating more work-friendly clothes into my wardrobe. On American Apparel they have this nice blue oxford button down I'm ogling. I figure I could dress it up for work and dress it down with black skinnies for a night out. Ive also got my eyes on this Steven Alan reverse seam shirt. Tres cute. However, shirts are easy for me. It's the damn pants. I have yet to find a pair of decent fitting, plain pants (will take suggestions). My internships are carried out in a hospital setting, meaning no jeans and I have to look semi-professional/like I know what I'm doing. People trust their children's minds with me. Keep in mind, therapists aren't exactly the most fashion-forward group of professionals. I once wore a pair of black skinny jeans, a steve alan grey shirt and a pair of black pumps to work. When I got to the work, I felt very overdressed and very--- fashiony. Fashion as a deficit.
Photobucket
Oh, how I wish I could wear you to work without looking like a total douche.
I must confess something. I hate summer and I hate summer clothes. I miss winter and fall. I love long sleeves, pants and cable tights. All that aside, here's what I wore out today. Although it was a hot day, I live by the lake so it can be cool, thus the cardigan. Which happens to be one of my favourite cardigans that I found on e-bay for $10 (Pringle of Scotland for $10!).
Photobucket
Cardigan: Pringle of Scotland
White Tank: Aritzia
Belt: Abercrombie (note: buy more belts)
Shorts: Gap
Shoes: Jeffery Campbell
Shopping Bag: Virgo bio bag
Dog: Baxter

Last note, and completely random one, this is how I organize my thoughts and wants. I rip out things from magazines for ideas or for future reference (the boyfriend likes to consult these papers when important dates are creeping up on him) and I shove them into this little notebook. Somewhere down the line these ripped papers are cut neatly and pasted into the book with little notes beside them.
Photobucket

That all being said... stay cool.
