> me sowwie

I'd like to apologize for slacking on the blogs.
It's end of term time for me. The hospital internship is hitting me hard along with the bajiions of papers that are, of course, all due at one. Plus it's Jay's birthday coming up.
Le sigh.
I'll stop complaining.
On the bonus, I did buy a new coat. It's my baby.
Ted Baker coat! It looks much purdier in person. It has such cute buttons and hit's me perfectly at the waist

> bananas, son

Like some of my Canadian blogger ladies, I was also sent free stuff from Matchstick: the Harajuku lovers perfumes.
I wasn't going to do it. As much as I love free stuff, I'm also very wary and cautious. Who gives stuff away?
Anyway, they sent me a ton of stuff. I've been giving all the samples to my friends, my boyfriends twin-sisters who are far more popular than I am and probably have friends that are more likely to purchase the product.
Onto the scents. I'm very picky when it comes to perfume. I have my winter smell (Viktor & Rolf's Flowerbomb) and my Rest-of-the-time smell (L'occitane Le Vert). I like ot think I have a sensitive nose.
I thought the one I'd like the most would be G, but alas it is not. Smells like coconut. If you like food-smells, it may be for you. I hate food smells: vanilla, chocolate, any fruit.... not for me.
Music was alright, but it didn't wow me. It reminded me of my senior-elementary school days when I'd wear "gap" perfume or "mood" perfume. I could see my little cousin really liking it.
Angel smelled bad in the bottle, but on a person it actually smelt not so bad. A little bit like food (see above comment), but it was not too bad!
Baby smelled like, well, baby powder. It's a matter of taste liking that smell.
My favourite was Love. I smells good in the bottle, but on my wrist it smelled wonderful. A basic smell and versatile.
Of course, all this said, smell is a personal thing. What one likes another may not. And you know what, these perfume bottles are cute to boot so even if you don't like any of the smells, they will look simply dahling on your vanity!

> that crazy lady in the park.

It's been far too long since I posted. It's been busy: school and internship is really taking a toll on me.

Last weekend I was in Waterloo, as I have classes on Monday. J and I decided to take a stroll through Waterloo Park. I had a bag of nuts in my purse (hunger can strike at any moment) and thus was a big hit amongst the squirrels (and horses, and bunnies, and alpacas...). I started to feed the squirrels, as they were too cute just following me around. Of course, after a couple of minutes I had about a bajillion squirrels around me and taking the nuts from my hand. J was very embarrassed for me. We heard several mothers saying to their young children "look at the lady feeding the squirrel". I am now "that crazy lady in the park" according to J.

This weekend, Canadian Thanksgiving, has been a wonderful getaway -- off to the country side to take in the fall colours, hang out with family and friends, read a book, and eat yummy food. Several family walks were in order through Proctor Park, in Brighton. The dog had a wonderful time just trotting amongst the woods, charging into the streams, and running around with whole trees in his mouth.

Me fetching the dog out of the stream. The hair is crazy.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and Happy Fall Weater to those south of me!

> dace dace dace! sale sale sale! new new new!

Oh joyous day! One of my favourite Canadian designers, Dace, has put up their new collection for fall and is having a sale!

Check out their website for some images of their new pieces! I can't wait until they're up for purchasing on the site.

While I'm waiting for the new pieces, here are some sale pieces I have my spectacles on:

> medieval times fashion.

I'm not a big jewelery person, but this Canadian jewelry designer/crocheter is just brilliant. Arielle de Pinto takes thread-like pieces of metal and crochets them into a beautiful work of art. A tough material, but when crochet it just looks so feminine and delicate.
Too gorgeous for words.

> once you pop you can't stop.

I love Pringle of Scotland so much.
Look at the gorgeous ensembles and pieces from Pringle 1815.
How cute is that beige skirt? and that black babydoll top?

Even the pieces of the fellas are nice.

Me likey.

> when good fashion happens to bad people.

People never like the antagonist. I always do, but perhaps that the therapist in me. I imagine the tormented life that, I hypothesize, they must have had. I imagine their motives that no one understands that seems so just in their own mind. I imagine the motivation and immense dedication it takes.
Don't get me wrong, I don't commend evil acts of violence against another; but I do like the 'bad guy'. Perhaps I'm really just superficial and what I like about the evil-doer is their style. It is so carefully planned out. I do believe that the antagonist is the most fashion conscious.

Exhibit A: Paul & Peter (Funny Games, 1997)

Sadly these were the best images of Funny Games (1997 Austrian Version) that I could find. It was important to have the original version over the U.S version. Paul's outfit is much better in this version. He wears the shorter shorts and long sleeve polo. Both evil-boy-o's decked out in all white tops, gloves, and shoes (converse low-tops) they look just grand. Such professionalism but still looking cool.

Exhibit B: The Joker

Very Etro, no? Very Grunge. Very--- amazing. I had a hard time deciding which Joker I liked better because I really do like the plaid pants on Jack Nicholson as the Joker. However, I opted for the updated joker because it's a little more wearable. I love the vest being army green.
No kidding around about his fashion here (lame, I know).

Exhibit C: Cruella De Vil

I don't condone the wearing of fur, but damn. Cruella was ahead of her time. French chic, black cat suit with a plunging neckline, the red gloves (probably leather), and always in heels. You got to give the woman credit: she looked good while being so evil.

Exhibit D: Jack Torrence

The whole wardrobe of this film is brilliant, but Jack really captures my style. Flannel, jeans, and a bomber. So simple, yet so cool. Could you imagine this on someone 20 years (compared to the photo age) younger? Stylin'.

Exhibit E: The Heathers

I don't think there's any explanation needed here. Just look at them!

I'm sure there are many others that are stylin' while going on with their bad self.
Please leave a comment about it!
